Summer Camp 2025
Summer Camp 2025 will take place July 6-12 2025 at Camp McKee. Please read this page carefully to help ensure registration is as seamless as possible.
Important Dates
March 4th - Merit Badge choices are due
March 25th - Deposit of $100 due, per Scout.
April 29th - Final payment is due
Program Choices
The Camp McKee Summer program offers two different options for summer camp. Scouts who are 14 and over have the choice to attend the high adventure program (more information below). Scouts under 14, or those not wishing to do the high adventure program, will attend a traditional summer camp program.
Cost and Payment
The base cost for summer camp is $450. If your scout is participating in the high adventure program, there is an additional $100 fee.
Please note: There are some merit badge choices that require an additional fee. This will be listed on the pre-requisites document.
As was announced at the winter Court of Honor: the proceeds from popcorn sales have been divided equally among all scouts and placed into their escrow accounts. This amount was $102, which can be applied towards the cost of summer camp or any other outing.
As always, if scouts cannot afford the cost of summer camp, please let Mrs. Ballman and Mr. Whitmer, at troop41lex@gmail.com, know so that a payment plan and/or a camp scholarship can be arranged.
Payments can be made at Tuesday evening meetings via cash, check, credit card (through Square + transaction fee), or Venmo. If you are not able to pay in person, please contact Mrs. Ballman, at troop41lex@gmail.com, for alternate arrangements.
High Adventure Program
For Scouts who are 14+ at the time of summer camp, you have the option to do the high adventure program at McKee. This program will take place in the Gorge area each day with different activities such as hiking, kayaking (Red River Gorge Underground), rock-climbing (via-ferrata at Southeast Mountain Guides), shooting sports, horseback riding, and more. Scouts will still camp with their troop but day-time activities will take place outside of camp. There is also a rumor of at least 1 trip to Miguels.
Registration
Please follow these steps:
Print out the MB Sign Up Document
Review the Merit Badge Schedule and select your initial choices and backup choices
Review the prerequisites document and verify that you meet the criteria for the selected choices
Fill out the Sign Up Document, including the information below the merit badge course selection
If applicable, print and fill out the Eagle-required Merit Badge Acknowledgement Form
If taking the high adventure course, print and complete the Off-Site Trip Consent Form
Return all documents to the Summer Camp table
Medical Forms
It's time to update med forms for 2025. Med forms are only good for one year. Summer Camp will not take the previous version this year. Forms A, B1 and B2 are required for all adults, siblings and scouts that attend any activity. These can be completed by the parent.
Also, T41 needs your vaccination record and copy of your insurance card. Med Form C will be required if you are attending summer camp. Form C must be completed by a physician.
On page B1 of the med form it asks for Council Name and Number. Please enter "Blue Grass Council" and "204"
When turning in med forms, please bring 3 copies to a scout meeting, or send them by US mail to Mrs. Fox. Do NOT email these forms.
